The Mark complexes have been family owned and operated since the construction of Mark I in 1981. The Fairchild family has been prominent in south Mississippi business since 1924, when W.R. Fairchild began driving bridge piling. He brought his sons Wiley, Rodney, C.D., and Hub into what became one of the most successful and innovative construction companies in the state. W.R.’s sons continued to expand the business, branching into oil and gas and forming Fairchild-Windham Exploration Company in 1974.
The Fairchild brothers decided to build apartments after realizing a need for quality housing in Hattiesburg. Thirty years and six complexes later, the Mark still sets the bar for excellence and affordability. Now in its fourth generation, W.R. Fairchild’s company continues to be committed to providing superior apartments for the ever-growing Hub City.
